Module 03 Reflection

Agency is about allowing students to learn through methods and activities that are meaningful and relevant to them, offering opportunities to develop essential skill.

Action is an integral part of the PYP learning process. Through taking individual and collective action, students develop their sense of responsibility and appreciate the benefits of working with others for a shared purpose.

Inquiry is purposeful and authentic and as a part of the learner profile, students are supported by the teachers in becoming “inquirers” as it nurtures curiosity and promotes enthusiasm for life-long learners. The constructivist inquiry process of asking (inquiry), thinking (reflection) and doing (action) leads towards open classrooms where different views and perspectives are valued.

Collaboration with the students, parents, single subject teachers as well as the PYP coordinator plays an important role. It brings in a lot of reflection for us to see how much the learners have learned and understood in the unit and what we need to change. It helps to scaffold and form group tasks keeping the strengths and weakness of the learners in mind.
